Opie Otterstad, who has painted Major League Baseball’s official World Series Celebration art for 15 years, unveils the biggest work of his career Saturday at Off the Wall Gallery. This 8-by-5-foot canvas is not just physically large, it’s huge in his heart — because this year, Otterstad got to paint his hometown team. He’s been part of the Astros family pretty much since he was a teenager, and he traveled to all of the 2017 games to witness their drive to World Series victory. His complex composition looks like it’s copied from a photograph that might have been snapped as the jubilant team jumped onto the field at Dodger Stadium after Game 7.
