John Douglas: “The Man Who Paints Rock & Roll”

John Douglas is a gifted Texan, known for the artwork seen on Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry’s famous guitar “Billie.” He later airbrushed a portrait of Perry playing the guitar which Perry used as an album cover. Douglas is not just a painter. He’s also an incredible drummer, serving as drum tech for bands like ZZ Top, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, and of course Aerosmith. You might have seen Douglas recently actually drumming for Aerosmith while Joey Kramer was hurt. This week, Douglas is kicking off his national art tour right here in Austin at Russell-Collection Fine Art Gallery.
