As the band Def Leppard gets ready to kick off their North American tour later this month, drummer Rick Allen has taken the time to bring his personal artwork to South Florida.
The Def Leppard drummer has teamed with Wentworth Gallery to present his collection of artwork called “Angels and Icons” throughout the United States.
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) – At just 14, Autumn de Forest is a painter with an impressive portfolio. She started painting at 5, began showing her works at art fairs at age 6, and these days her pieces sell at auction for upwards of $25,000 dollars.
Rick Allen is known to music fans around the world as the drummer of legendary rock group, Def Leppard. Rick knows his way around a canvas, as well. He’s an accomplished artist whose paintings are currently on display in Fort Lauderdale.
You may know him as the drummer for “Def Leppard” but Rck Allen is more than a musician. This weekend you can see his latest collection of artwork titled “Rick Allen: Angels and Icons,” in Boca Raton at the Wentworth Gallery.

A south Austin gallery exhibit features original Star Wars-themed artwork. The intergalactic art is inspired by the box office-busting movie franchise. Prices of the art range from $150 to $6,000.
A Star Wars artwork exhibition has made its way to Texas for the first time and will remain open to the public at ART on 5th in Austin until January 31, 2016. “The Art of Star Wars” features original paintings and hand-embellished giclees by four official Disney artists: James Coleman, Rob Kaz, Allison Lefcort, and Rodel Gonzalez.
When Lucasfilm invited pop artist Allison Lefcort to contribute to their new show, “The Art of Star Wars,” it was easy to say yes, and it was easy to pick her subject. She said, “I know that I definitely needed to paint Han in carbonite.”
Solo’s famous hibernation, along with her versions of Darth Vader, Jedi master Yoda, and Captain Phasma from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be part of the fine art gallery show starting this week at Art on 5th.
