What You Need to Know: Opening this week in Houston, Off the Wall Gallery will present “Burner: A Group Exhibition of International Street Artists.” Featuring an incredible range of well-known and regarded street and graffiti artists from around the world—from Banksy and Dalek to Zero Gradient and Magnus Gjoen—the show highlights the best in the field. The range of mediums shown will be equally diverse, including mixed media works, hand-signed prints, and hard-to-find posters. The gallery will be hosting three receptions, two opening receptions Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26, as well as a closing reception April 15, 2023. For the RSVP-required opening receptions, visitors will be able to meet Berlin-based graffiti artist Simon Rohlen, better known as Kef!, whose work will also be on view. According to Kef!, the name means “scar,” which is how he considers art on walls, as an ineffaceable mark left by the hand of the artist. Inspired by spirituality, his mesmeric compositions aim to evoke balance and harmony in the viewer.
