Tennessean: Peace, love and Peter Max at Bennett Gallery
A newly-curated collection and sale of work by pop-art icon Peter Max comes to Bennett Gallery in Nashville Sept. 16-24.
Celebrating the artist’s long and varied career, “Peter Max Retrospective: The Collected Works 1960-2017,” features nearly 200 pieces that span six decades, from his iconic psychedelic art from the Summer of Love and Woodstock era to portraits of music legends to Nashville-themed pieces like “Cosmic Music City,” and a painted Tennessee Titans helmet. Archival photos and footage from the Berlin-born artist’s early career will also be on display.
